This page explains the visa types available online for Kuwait and how they are presented. It focuses only on the eVisa issued through the online system. Other visas exist under Kuwaiti law, but they are processed through different channels and are not part of the eVisa framework explained here.
Visa Types Available Online for Kuwait
Kuwait currently offers one visa type through its online system. This visa is issued for tourism-related travel and is commonly referred to as the Kuwait eVisa.
One Kuwait eVisa, Displayed Under Two Labels
Although Kuwait issues only one eVisa online, you may see it displayed under two different labels:
- Tourist eVisa
- Tourist eVisa for GCC Residents
These labels do not represent different visas. They exist to reflect eligibility routing based on nationality. The visa itself remains the same in all cases.
Kuwait eVisa Overview
The specifications of the Kuwait eVisa are fixed and do not change based on the label shown.
- Visa type: Kuwait eVisa
- Purpose: Tourism
- Entry type: Single entry
- Validity: 30 days
- Maximum stay: 30 days
These specifications apply uniformly to all eligible applicants.
How the Two eVisa Labels Are Used
The two labels are applied to guide applicants through the correct eligibility and requirements route.
Tourist eVisa
- This label is shown to applicants whose nationality falls under the standard eVisa eligibility route. It indicates that the applicant may proceed without any additional residence-based condition.
The visa issued under this label follows the same specifications outlined above.
Can I apply under this label if I live in a GCC country?Only if your nationality is eligible under the Tourist eVisa route. Having a GCC residency alone does not determine the label.
Tourist eVisa for GCC Residents
- This label is shown to applicants whose nationality is routed through the GCC Resident eligibility framework. It indicates that, in addition to standard eligibility, the applicant must hold a valid residence permit issued by a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The visa issued under this label is identical to the Tourist eVisa in terms of entry, validity, and stay.
Does this label give extra stay or entry benefits?No. The label does not change the visa conditions. It only reflects the eligibility route and the GCC permit requirement for applying.

You do not select a visa type manually. The label shown to you is determined automatically based on your nationality.

Visas Not Available Through the Online eVisa System
Several Kuwaiti visa categories are issued outside the online eVisa system. These include visas for employment, residence, study, transit, and long-term stays.
Such visas are processed through embassies, sponsors, or local authorities in Kuwait and follow procedures that differ from the eVisa process. They are not covered on this platform.
